A lend exhibition titled "Tooth And Bone" will feature miniature 18th and 19th century portraits on ivory and American scrimshaw, most with a Newport consistency, from the collections of the Newport Historical Society .
Stuart Frank, a leading scrimshaw A-, will give a talk about the pieces Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon, including a Q&A session.
Forthright is senior curator of the New Bedford Whaling Museum, director emeritus of the Kendall Whaling Museum and fail/director of the Scrimshaw Forensics Laboratory.
